Myself and Pippa from Phillyphotography_ absolutely loved collaborating together to get the absolute dream team for our styled shoot. We had a vision of ‘romantic and slightly edgy’ meets ‘boho princess’. Our venue was Bury Court Barn in the beautiful countryside near Farnham, Surrey. A truly unique barn venue with so many looks! The forest green colour palette worked perfectly with the hand calligraphed stationary suite and 3 tier cake. Jamie, the florist, did an excellent job at tying all the details together with the florals, with all the natural earthy vibes tying in with the pampas for that gorgeous boho look. The 2 bouquets featured lots of soft blush pinks, pampas grass, and pops of deep reds which worked SO well with our setting. She also made an arch from bamboo which included the gorgeous flowers as well which we styled against the brick wall interior of the barn and a boho style rug to compliment the florals.
Our first look with our first couple, (the wonderful Darina and Sammy) had the most amazing boho mermaid hair and had a real fairytale feel to it. Darina’s hair is gorgeously thick and a stunning red so she totally rocked this hairstyle. We utilised some of the wonderfully quirky interior space in the barn to showcase what this venue has to offer and how diverse it can be. Full of character and history, but also full of nature and outdoor beauty.
Both our brides wore dresses by ‘Love Spell Design’ and they were just perfect for the theme we were going for. I absolutely loved the lace sleeves on Jess’s dress, the detailing was so delicate and beautiful.
Our second look with Jess and James had slightly moodier and edgy vibes, with James and all of his amazing tattoos and jewellery – we absolutely LOVED shooting them! We changed Jess’s look up a couple of times during the shoot and our make up artist Livvy gave her a deeper more sultry red lip which complimented the bouquet so well and brought the whole look together.
One of my favourite of the couple set ups was shooting in the venue’s outdoor ceremony space with the gold hoop by ‘Belgray Weddings and Events’. The dried pampas went so well with the bouquet and the macrame added to the boho look.
Towards the end of the shoot, after sunset, we changed up Jess and James look to something much more ‘casual’ and well… they kindly got in a bath tub in the middle of a field and got (semi) naked!! As you do right after you get married!! We loved how alternative and rock n roll these guys were and it ended the shoot on SUCH a high!
